Ingredients for 10 servings

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • .5 cup coconut
  • .5 cup chopped pecans
  • .5 cup sunflower seeds, shelled
  • .25 cup sesame seeds (optional)
  • .5 cup honey
  • .33 cup oil
  • .25 tsp salt

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients-make sure there are not any dry spots. Spread evenly onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 25-35 minutes. I usually do 30 minutes. After 15 minutes stir and then put back in for the remaining time. When done, immediately pour out onto wax paper to let cool. Break up and put into storage bags. Will store for 2 weeks. Makes great cereal or just a treat.
  2. Try this on some Greek yogurt sweetened with a little honey for an amazing treat.

This is the BEST jerky I have ever had. You would never know it was made with hamburger.

  • .5 tsp garlic salt
  • .25 tsp cayenne pepper
  • .5 tsp season salt
  • .5 tsp Accent
  • .5 tsp maple flavoring

Steps

  1. Mix together by hand, do not over mix (the jerky will be brittle and fall apart if you do.) Form into strips or use a jerky press. Dehydrate until done. Time will vary depending on dehydrator-about 8 hours for 5lbs of hamburger.

Description

A huge favorite of our family! Surgeon General's Warning: the combined contents of this recipe may be addictive.

Ingredients for 24 servings

  • 12 cups rolled oats (not quick)
  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • 1.5 cups roasted/no salt pumpkin seeds
  • 1.5 cups raw sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup extra light virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, stir together all oats, seeds, and nuts.
  2. In a small saucepan, mix together the oil, honey, sugar, and salt. Heat until just before boiling to dissolve sugar. Then add the vanilla.
  3. Pour liquid over the dry ingredients and mix well. Spray pans thoroughly with cooking oil. Divide the granola into two large sided cookie sheets. Press firmly (I use a small rolling pin) so it can be cut into bars after baking. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into pieces. Store in zip-lock bags and freeze until ready to use.
