Ingredients
- 2.50.3125 cups milk
- .250.03125 cup heavy cream
- 20.25 egg yolks
- .660.0825 cup sugar
- 40.5 tbsp cornstarch
- 20.25 tsp vanilla
- 20.25 tsp butter, softened
- 10.125 baked pie shell
Steps
- Whisk together milk, cream, and egg yolks. Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Whisk in egg yolk mixture and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. Then stir mixture constantly until it comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into cooked shell.
- For banana cream pie: Add 1-2 bananas before pouring into the pie shell.
- For coconut cream pie: Add 1 1/2 cups coconut flakes before putting in the pie shell.
