Ingredients
- 10.05 cup butter, softened
- 1.50.075 cups sugar
- 20.1 cups sour cream
- 20.1 tsp vanilla
- 40.2 large eggs
- 10.05 tbsp baking powder
- 20.1 tsp baking soda
- 2.50.125 cups flour
- 50.25 medium apples, peeled and sliced thinly
Streusel:
- 10.05 cup pecans, chopped
- .250.0125 cup brown sugar
- 10.05 tsp cinnamon
- .660.033 cup flour
- 40.2 tbsp butter
Glaze:
- Powdered sugar
- Milk
- 10.05 tsp almond extract
Steps
- Combine all streusel ingredients. Cut mixture until it forms large crumbles. Set aside.
- Grease two 8 x 8 inch pans. In a large bowl beat the butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients except apples. Beat mixture at low speed until blended. Mix for 1 more minute on a medium speed. Spread batter into the prepared pans and arrange apple slices evenly on top of the batter. Crumble the streusel topping over the apple layer and bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes, the cake should pull away from the sides of the pans. Let cool for 10 minutes. Top with glaze and serve.
